Coronavirus | Tliet skejjel privati se jagħlqu l-bibien tagħhom

Il-gazzetta ILLUM rat l-imejl mibgħuta lill-ġenituri li fiha l-Kap tal-Iskola jinnota kif ħafna ġenituri mhux qed jibagħtu lit-tfal l-iskola

Il-gazzetta ILLUM tista' tiżvela li l-iskejjel San Anton, St Martin's u St Edward's se jkunu qed jagħlqu il-bibien tagħhom bil-għan li jonqos it-tixrid tal-coronavirus.

L-iskola St. Edward's kellha ppjanati xi btajjel u dawn issa se jkunu estiżi sat-23 ta' Marzu. L-iskejjel San Anton u St. Martin's se jagħlqu għal ħmistax min-nhar it-Tnejn li ġej

Edukaturi mill-iskola San Anton ikkonfermaw li l-iskola mhux se tiftaħ min-nhar it-Tnejn li ġej, 16 ta' Marzu, bil-għan li jitnaqqas it-tixrid tal-coronavirus.

L-iskola se tibqa' magħluqa għal ħmistax. Il-gazzetta ILLUM rat l-imejl mibgħuta lill-ġenituri li fiha l-Kap tal-Iskola jinnota kif ħafna ġenituri mhux qed jibagħtu lit-tfal l-iskola.

Għalhekk u anke bil-għan li jipproteġu s-saħħa tal-istudenti u l-istaff, l-iskola se tagħlaq "għal ħmistax," u mhux eskluż li dan il-perjodu jitwal skont l-iżviluppi.

Din hija l-imejl mibgħuta lill-ġenituri:

As you are aware, through a number of interventions and measures, the School has done its utmost to ensure the continued health and well-being of its students and staff further to the onset of the COVID-19 virus in Malta.  This notwithstanding, as a fellow parent I am aware that a number of you are increasingly reluctant to send their children to school, resulting in dwindling attendance records and significant difficulty for educators to carry out effective teaching and learning with our students.

In light of all of this and in order to continue prioritising the well-being of your children and our staff, as a further precautionary measure, we will be closing San Anton School as of Monday 16th March for a period of 15 days or until further notice.  We have already tested the possibility of distance learning provision with those of our students who have been in quarantine over the past 2 weeks and have plans in place to implement strategies to address the curricular needs of our students during the currency of the School closure.  Over the coming days, the Heads of Sector will be in touch to explain more specifically the manner in which we will support your children during the closure of the School.

In preparation for this event, we have instructed your children to take their books home over today and tomorrow.  In certain grades, this stage has already been completed.  If your child has not been attending school, please make arrangements for books to be collected from school by a friend of your child and then collect these books from your end.  Alternatively, you may ask a relative who is not in quarantine to collect the books from school on your behalf tomorrow.

We would like to assure you that this measure is intended solely to proactively address your children’s continued well-being and that you should have absolutely no cause for alarm.  In fact, school will proceed as normal for the rest of the day today and also tomorrow.  The Heads of Sector and I, as indeed all the officials of the School remain contactable via email for the entirety of the duration of the School’s closure.

I thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation.  Equally, I want to thank all our staff for their support in implementing the measures through which the School will reach out to your children in the upcoming period.
